Trip blog names are always fun to come up with and this one was rather easy. As we researched the (potential) trip Kim used Directv to show us all the shows related to Iceland coming up and a Travel Channel show Booze Traveler  mentioned the Icelandic version of ‘cheers’ was ‘Skál í botn!‘ which translates to ‘Bottoms up!’ in english. Twas that simple.

The origin of this one is a bit different. First Sydney is going on a 10 day school trip to Nicaragua as part of her final year at Woodland. This trip is affording Kim and myself time to do something and we decided to let our imaginations go as long as it was one airline hop away. For some reason Iceland quickly rose to the top of the list (Game of Thrones? Oblivion?? Interstellar??? Star Wars: The Force Awakens????) and Matthias Hanel had recently told us that he had flown WOW Air, had a layover in Reykjavík and while there others in the lounge had talked up the country. Our own research quickly made this the trip for us however we need to be back on time to greet Sydney upon her return and WOW Air quickly fell into disfavor. The only other way was Icelandic Air which would require two hops… Well there goes that rule!
